Battery Disposal FAQs
What is battery recycling?
The dry cell battery recycling process involves breaking down the batteries to recover useful materials, such as lead, zinc, and plastic. Recycling these materials means that new batteries or other products can be made out of them. This helps to conserve natural resources and reduce the environmental impact of battery disposal overall.
How does battery recycling work?
Different types of batteries will need to be recycled in different ways. For example, for alkaline, zinc, and carbon batteries, these are recycled using a specific room temperature mechanical separation process where the
battery components are separated out.
